Liz Truss, began the first edition of her video series with a vow to unmask "the evil-doers" working to bring down the UK, United States and European nations. She explained she would lay bare how an "global web of leftists work to undermine popular rule and the will of the people."

"We will examine the Maga phenomenon and understand how it can be accomplished in Britain," Truss declared. "Our guests will include the prominent voices of the Maga movement."

In advance of the program's debut, there was one particularly enthusiastic supporter. "This is the beginning of a type of political shift," said John Solomon. His conservative media outlet Just the News will host the ex-PM's new audio shows.

Establishing Ties in the Maga-Verse

The former PM's foray to import American conservative media to the United Kingdom has aligned her more closely to controversial figures such as the journalist.

He established the platform in the wake of criticism following accusations of promoting misleading narratives about the President's actions in the Eastern European nation, as well as contentious articles about ex-ambassador to the region.

Solomon's reporting were echoed throughout the pro-Trump media, with the journalist serving as a frequent visitor on the widely-watched Fox News show. Trump himself promoted Solomon's reporting.

He wrote the Ukraine claims in a series of columns for the outlet the Hill, after having been re-labelled as a columnist following internal criticism regarding his reporting. His narratives were central in the then-president's request for the Ukrainian government to look into the Biden family in 2019. This pressure resulted in impeachment charges against the president. The Senate later acquitted the president.

Not long after Solomon left the Hill in October 2019, the publication stated it was performing a assessment of his columns about Ukraine. It concluded Solomon had relied on untrustworthy contacts and noted he "did not disclose key facts about primary contacts in Ukraine, specifically the detail that they had been charged or were being probed."

Entering the Ecosystem

His media appearances are a sign of the right-wing media network Truss is becoming part of. He discussed his endorsement of her new show on a program he presents on the right-wing channel, a political media platform that is where you find the Maga influencer Steve Bannon and on which former Fox host Tucker Carlson also is seen. The ex-PM has already spoken with the political operative on an early episode.

Even though Truss's stilted style and political travails have been mocked in Britain, certain American analysts do not dismiss her bid to rebrand as a UK offshoot of the Make America Great Again press.

"Online platforms knows no borders," he said. "There is a certain atmosphere within which ideas travel – at times taking an extreme form and sometimes less so – but which is interlinked."

Hinton said the rise of the internet-based right wing in the United Kingdom lately meant the "potential to have a growing impact is significant."
